I had originally planned on sharing a blog post at the start of the year detailing all of my goals for 2020 and my perfect plan to execute them throughout the year. I had gone through a really intensive process to outline each goal and the steps needed to complete them during December of last year in preparation for January 1st. My goals were lofty, my timeline was strict, and I thought I was ready to tackle anything. But if you read my previous blog post, you know that things haven’t been working out according to plan. If the corona virus has taught me anything, it’s that life is truly unpredictable. So I have taken some time to reevaluate my goals and decide on what is really important to me. I have chosen to remove most of my deadlines, lighten up on some of the more difficult tasks, and I feel a lot better about my goals in general. So we’re a good chunk of the way through January already, but I thought it would be a good idea to look back over my 2019 goals and see how far I got before moving on to my new goals for the new year.
Last year, I made two separate lists: one list of “intentions,” or goals that I felt couldn’t quite be quantified or measured, and one list of “goals,” which turned out to be a lot more like a bucket list. Since then I’ve learned a lot about how to properly design and plan goals, so while I wasn’t able to accomplish much last year, I am hoping for a lot more success in 2020.
