At the new year, Duolingo released a year-in-review report for users that broke down minutes learned, XP earned, and other interesting stats. In today’s post, I’ll be sharing my numbers for 2021 (through November 30th) and also reflecting on my Duolingo usage for the past year. Let’s go!

My Korean Language Journey Thus Far
Hey guys, it’s Veronica.
I’ve been studying Korean off and on for a few years now so I thought it was time to take a look back at my journey and to also refocus my goals for the future. I’ll be sharing some information about why I first became interested in Korean, different methods I’ve used over the years, how I’m learning currently, and what I want to accomplish in the future. I won’t be sharing very many specific resources in this post as I plan to make more focused posts (and videos) about each category of learning materials like apps, books, websites, and more, so please keep an eye out for these topics in future posts. Until then, if you are interested in hearing how I got started and my journey thus far, please read on!
(I also made a video about my journey, so if you’re a TL;DR kind of person, you should scroll down to watch that instead of reading through the following novel. Haha!)

Hey guys, it’s Veronica.
I’ve been taking a lot of time to think deeply about my presence online and how I can improve the content I’m putting out. I’ve been pretty diligent about the photos I curate on my Instagram account (@itsveronicaguys….feel free to follow me…lol) but when it comes to this blog and my Youtube channel, even Twitter, I am woefully inconsistent, and I want to start making changes on both platforms to ensure that I can provide quality content (and quantity, because let’s face it, quantity does matter online).
I’m Just Procrastinating
In less than 24 hours I will be traveling to Taiwan, which means I really ought to be packing and prepping right now, but instead I’m doing everything I can to avoid doing what I have to. I’m excited for the trip, but part of me is even more excited for what will happen after the trip.
2016 Goals (sort of)
So I read somewhere that it’s actually bad to share your goals. Saying them out loud causes you to believe that you’ve accomplished something and that you are closer to your goals than you actually are. You end up taking it easy and you may not work as hard to achieve your goals. You may not even achieve them at all! So I won’t be sharing my detailed list of goals for 2016 for this reason. But I will share a list of areas in my life that I will be focusing on this year.
